U.S. & World History – A little known fact about a classic sci-fi movie, is that it has no resemblance of the novel that inspired the flick. The original storyline was about some people from another planet, that came to earth with the sole purpose of stealing tiny toilets from toddlers. When the book sold very few copies, the writer made some drastic changes in the screenplay version, and changed it to alien plant spores falling from space that grow into large seed pods, with each one capable of reproducing a duplicate replacement copy of each human. The movie was an instant hit with a slightly modified title from the original version, which was called “Invasion of the Potty Snatchers”.
