BREAKING NEWS – Portland, Oregon – The Oregon city topped a list of major metropolitan areas with the worst auto theft rates compiled by AutoInsuranceEZ.com.
The report used data from the 2017-2019 FBI Uniform Crime Reports and ranked the top 15 metro areas with populations of a million or more.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended the theft rate. “People shouldn’t be focused on the cars being stolen, they should be focused on why they are being stolen,” she stated. “The truth is, they are stealing these vehicles, so at a moment’s notice, they can quickly get to a location to protest crimes that cops are constantly committing.”
