BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., tried to tamp down the perceived influence of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other progressive freshman Democrats, saying their wing in Congress was “like five people.” Speaking with CBS News’ Lesley Stahl on “60 Minutes,” Pelosi said the 29-year-old congresswoman from New York didn’t have a significant impact on the Democratic Party. “It’s only the republicans that are overrating the influence of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib,” Pelosi explained. “I on the other hand, often laugh at the stupidity of these stooges. Next year all three of them will be up for election, and I will campaign heavily for whoever runs against these radical empty-headed dingbats, and try to sway the ignoramuses that voted for them the first time.”
